Anita Briem is an Icelandic actress . Known for her portrayal in the role of Jane Seymour , the young woman who is destined to be the third wife of King Henry VIII in the series on television The Tudors and for her role as Hannah in the film Journey to the Center of the Earth ( 2008 ) . Briem started her career as an actor at National Theater Iceland at 9 years old. In her native Iceland she worked on radio, television and various different programs while a young actor. Briem relocated to London in the year he turned 16 and took part in a play production in the New End Theater called Lenin in Love. Briem got a spot at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at the age of 19. The next three years, she attended the school and graduated with an acting degree as well as an award called the John Barton Prize for Scenic Fight. While studying at RADA the actor performed in a variety of plays, including The Cherry Garden of Anton Chekhov as well as the play Bernarda Alba's house by Federico Garcia Lorca. Briem was a theater actor in London following his graduation, appearing as a character in Catalog of Misunderstanding by Mike Figgis at the National Theater Studio and the five-month West End season of Losing Louis.
