Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area located in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" area. People who don't understand they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is often cited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. Early ambitions were to become a dancer. But, a growing increase caused her to surpass her dance partners she was able to have. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. After I became too big for my male friends, I quit. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. As for the Brugel family, it was their drama teacher who nudged her in that direction. It was her teacher who encouraged her to try out for the role of Anne for their school's annual production. She auditioned and was cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with the Bachelors in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel has been in over 60 productions both big and small. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast in the season 1 of the series, and not seen much.
